Sammons Financial Group Advances Digital Transformation Initiatives With iPipeline

Automation Leverages Next Gen e-App, Expanded Medical Questions for Non-Fluid Underwriting, and Policy Exchanges

Exton, PA (April 20th, 2021) – iPipeline® – a leading provider of no code / low code cloud-based software solutions for the life insurance and financial services industry, today announced Sammons Financial Group, parent company to Midland National and North American company, advanced its digital transformation initiatives while paramedical exam offices were shut down during the height of the pandemic by extending the capabilities of iGO® e-App with several unique product features to streamline non-fluid underwriting and provide distribution partners expanded options and flexibility. Sammons Financial Group’s best practices approach for the use of e-App has resulted in their agent adoption rate increasing from 56% to 75% during 2020. *

“Sammons Financial Group is a great example of how iGO e-App is enabling carriers across the U.S. to effectively achieve digital transformation initiatives. By implementing unique product features, they have managed to circumvent the collection of fluids by expanding the medical questions within the e-App workflow. This is accelerating how they do business by eliminating the paramedical exam while making the purchase of life insurance more palatable for their clients,” said Larry Berran, CEO, iPipeline. “The industry is working its way through the challenges being presented in the current contactless selling environment. iPipeline is pleased to be working with Sammons on finding innovative ways to increase their speed to market while serving the financial needs of the families seeking their products.”

“I am thrilled to see our digital transformation roadmap come to life and distribution partner e-App adoption surge to 75%, particularly in a challenging year like 2020. The ability to streamline how our distribution partners submit business to us has enabled Sammons Financial Group to address market demand for a variety of our products and ensure our customers do not experience delays in satisfying their traditional needs,” said Neil Berns, Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, Sammons Financial Group. “We’ve also worked with iPipeline to modify our iGO workflow by expanding medical questions to execute non-fluid underwriting in instances where it wasn’t previously available, making it easier for distribution partners to serve their clients in a substantially better way.”

Enriching Your e-App Experience

With 50+ successful Carrier implementations, and hundreds of thousands of agents in North America utilizing the product, it’s safe to say that iGO® has become an important part of workflows across the nation. The breadth of this network is certainly apparent in the roughly $32 billion in e-Application ops dollars saved to date!

As the product owner of iGO, it’s my job to continually seek out enhancements that will enrich the e-App experience. The benefits that customers are seeing as a result of using iGO reach well beyond an improvement on NiGO applications, reduced cycle times, and increased placement ratio.

Take Guardian Life for example- after rolling out iGO for both their Life and Disability product lines, they proactively became the first adopter of Client Collaboration, enabling their agents and consumers to work together to complete applications.

Another great point of reference is Pekin and Mutual of Omaha, who are both utilizing LexisNexis Instant ID to verify the identity of consumers in real-time, thus reducing risk and flagging fraudulent and suspect behavior.

These are just a few highlights- I invite you to explore the full range of features available to augment the iGO experience below. Please also feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn to keep in tune with iGO enhancements in the future!

Pekin Life Insurance Company Integrates iPipeline’s Resonant Automated Underwriting With iGO e-App for Instant Decisioning

Instant Decisioning for Life Insurance Accelerates Sales in COVID-19 Pandemic

Exton, PA (November 23, 2020) – iPipeline® – a leading provider of low code cloud-based software solutions for the life insurance and financial services industry – today announced Pekin Life Insurance Company has integrated Resonant® New Business and Underwriting into their new business platform to provide point-of-sale (POS) instant decisioning within iGO® e-App, the most widely used, wizard-based e-Application among carriers and agents in the US.

“POS instant decisioning is something that we have long been advocating at iPipeline. With the current COVID-19 pandemic and the obstacles being faced by both agents and their clients, POS automation can be of enormous benefit,” said Larry Berran, CEO, iPipeline. “In Pekin Life’s new workflow, the life insurance case is submitted through iGO e-App to Resonant and the necessary automated underwriting actions take place, based on predefined rules. This accelerated approach to instant decisioning for life insurance ultimately leads to better outcomes for both the insurer and the customer, particularly at a time when contactless selling has become the new norm.”

“iPipeline is transforming how we think about the new business workflow and how we help our agents sell life insurance products to their clients. Our next-gen straight-through processing platform has advanced to the point with Resonant where we are now able to provide the agent with an instant underwriting decision with no human interaction,” said Jocelyn Duncan at Pekin Life, VP of Life Administration. “In the future, our plans are to further enhance the platform functionality and increase straight-through processing speed by reducing human interaction on a wider array of products and including DocFast® e-Delivery to fully automate policy issuance. iPipeline has continued to innovate with us on many fronts this year. The results of this partnership are helping us to maintain and build upon our market momentum during the COVID-19 pandemic and offer the valuable protections so many families need at this time.”

WoodmenLife Launches Unified Selling Experience for Agents with iPipeline

Illustrations Integrator and e-App Implementations Streamline and Accelerate Sales Process

EXTON, PA (November 19, 2019) – iPipeline® – a leading provider of cloud-based software solutions for the life insurance and financial services industry – today announced WoodmenLife has implemented iPipeline’s Illustration Integrator® with iGO® e-App to provide its sales representatives with a unified selling experience.

iPipeline’s Illustration Integrator allows WoodmenLife’s reps to enjoy an automated selling experience by re-using external calculations to generate an illustration PDF, which is sent directly to iGO e-App for agent use. WoodmenLife is also using the disconnected option to improve rep mobility and support the selling process in the field. Address and bank validation options help to achieve a high rate of applications in Good Order.

“The ability to leverage existing illustration investments offers new efficiencies to carriers and their agents. In this instance, via WoodmenLife’s Web services, we accessed their existing illustration system and used resident data to generate an illustration PDF for integration with iGO e-App,” said Larry Berran, CEO, iPipeline. “Given the persistently low interest rates, carriers are seeking to lower costs, improve agent productivity, and grow. The combination of Illustration Integrator with our e-App represents just one example of how iPipeline is providing carriers with flexible solutions to reduce NIGO rates and the number of paper applications submitted by agents while optimizing their existing illustration investments.”

“After considering a range of options, our decision to implement iPipeline’s solution was based on their extensive industry experience and solid record of success in helping other carriers to achieve new efficiencies by reducing NIGOs to increase policy placements,” said Denise McCauley, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, WoodmenLife. “With the help of iPipeline, the recent launch of our My Choice IUL™ product was highly successful and is already producing positive returns. This project has allowed WoodmenLife to offer an IUL application experience that is 100% digital. iPipeline has delivered a level of flexibility and value, which is not easily matched in this marketplace.”

SBLI Simplifies Accelerated Underwriting Program with iPipeline

EXTON, PA (July 9th, 2019) – iPipeline® – a leading provider of cloud-based software solutions for the life insurance and financial services industry – today announced SBLI (The Savings Bank Mutual Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts) has implemented iGO® Drop Ticket to simplify its Accelerated Underwriting program for independent agents and their customers. Over 250 distributors are currently participating in SBLI’s program.

iGO Drop Ticket is an intelligent, rules-based short form, used by producers and call center support staff for insurance application processing. iGO Drop Ticket runs on iPipeline’s SSG Digital platform, which integrates directly with over 1,350 websites within the U.S.

“The complexities of selling life insurance are vast and contribute to the high number of underinsured in the U.S. Between state regulations, numerous product options, and thousands of forms, selling this important part of a family’s financial future isn’t always easy,” said Tim Wallace, CEO, iPipeline. “iGO Drop Ticket removes these barriers by simplifying what agents need to submit to a carrier to get the job done.”

“Agents send the ticket and the accompanying data directly to the carrier’s call center system, freeing them to concentrate on selling more while the center handles behind-the-scenes processing,” added Wallace. “This means more commissions for agents, better efficiency at call centers, and faster policy issuance for families seeking coverage. We are pleased to be a part of SBLI’s Accelerated Underwriting program.”

“The industry averages around 30 days for the issuance of life insurance after the application is submitted, and this is just too long for our customers. By expanding our drop ticket coverage to include iPipeline customers, we are increasing the opportunity for producers to submit business to SBLI more easily. Additionally, by using our award-winning Accelerated Underwriting program for agents and their consumers with iGO Drop Ticket, more than half of our Accelerated Underwriting decisions can be made in five days or less for up to $500K in coverage,” said Denis Clifford, SVP, Chief Distribution Officer, SBLI. “This program is being made available to all consumers and distributors, regardless of the risk class, to simplify and speed processing. We are excited to be able to more rapidly insure families seeking affordable protection with the help of iPipeline’s innovations.”

iPipeline’s SSG Digital core platform is designed to enable the life insurance and financial services industry to automate and simplify all new business, administration, and in-force management tasks to achieve desirable business outcomes. iPipeline Launches iGO Link for Digitized Paper

EXTON, PA (October 9th, 2018) – iPipeline® – a leading provider of cloud-based software solutions for the life insurance and financial services industry – today announced the launch of iGO Link. iGO® Link,an iPipeline innovation, is the “missing link” in the life insurance industry’s new business application process. It allows agents to complete a paper application while leveraging all the benefits derived from iGO e-App for straight-through processing speed. iGO e-App® is the most widely used wizard within the North American insurance industry for the processing of digital applications.

“We are extremely pleased to bring this innovation to the life insurance industry. Despite the move toward digitization within the industry, paper applications are still being submitted by agents and processed in abundance. The use of paper adds enormously to processing costs, introduces errors, leads to delays and cycle time, and results all too often in lost business,” said Tim Wallace, CEO, iPipeline. “The good news is iGO Link solves the problem and is already in use with a top 10 U.S. life insurance carrier.iGO e-App customers already have the majority of what they need in place. Future iGO e-App customers can simply add iGO Link as a powerful capability in their end-to-end digital strategy.”

“Agent behavior is very difficult to change. What is unique about iGO Link is its ability to easily digitize, correct and process a paper application to produce an in Good Order application without changing the agent’s preferred submission method. We use machine learning to convert the paper app to XML data, without data entry, and produce an iGO e-App,” said Bill Atlee, Chief Strategy Officer, iPipeline.“Agents can still complete a paper application and then electronically clean and e-Submit it for accelerated, straight-through processing. The gains are enormous. Carriers can also leverage their existing iGO e-App infrastructure to now achieve 100% agent adoption. iGO Link has the potential to deliver a rapid and substantial ROI to insurers using this innovation.”

iPipeline is focused on delivering industry innovations to enable end-to-end digitization for business velocity. To reimagine how you do business and schedule an iGO Link demonstration, contact marketing@ipipeline.com today.
