iPipeline® Adds Speed of Underwriting to Quote Engine with Ethos to Deliver Insurance to Agents in Minutes

Ethos Becomes First Insurtech on the Platform as Proprietary iPipeline Technology Feature Optimizes Filtering of Policies with Instant Underwriting

EXTON, PA and AUSTIN, TX—June 16, 2022—iPipeline® announces that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Ethos, one of the largest term life insurance providers in the U.S., empowering Ethos to help a wider range of consumers benefit from its online life insurance coverage platform. As the first insurtech on the iPipeline platform, Ethos can now offer its white-labeled and customized life insurance assessment, application, and policy delivery services to the more than 400,000 agents across the iPipeline ecosystem.

Ethos’ mission is to make life insurance more affordable and accessible to as many Americans as possible. With Ethos, consumers can obtain life insurance policy quotes and apply online in minutes without medical exams. Using its proprietary technology stack, Ethos can process the application instantly, providing information about coverage eligibility and rates. Once the application is approved, the policyholder can activate their coverage immediately.

Insurtechs can appear lower in lists on quote engines that were traditionally designed to sort only by premiums. iPipeline resolves this issue by displaying a “speed score” to agents. Each carrier is measured by the amount of time it takes for an agent to complete their digital application, as well as the time it takes the carrier to make an underwriting decision. These speeds and qualification scores are displayed next to the carrier’s premium. Now for the first time, agents can sort via speed and any of these categories, allowing them to help their customers get the best product for their needs, especially as more and more consumers expect instant online experiences.

“Each agent determines what matters most to their client. Sometimes that’s speed—and sometimes it’s price,” said Bill Atlee, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of iPipeline. “Our quote engines with the added ‘speed score’ search will help Ethos stand out in an industry that is used to a 30-to-45-day underwriting process. Agents can now view Ethos’s products alongside traditional carriers with the ability to consider more than just price. We’re excited to bring the Ethos products to the many agents in the iPipeline ecosystem, and we look forward to our ongoing partnership.”

“iPipeline’s distribution and innovation capabilities will help us as we continue on our mission to protect the next million families,” said Vipul Sharma, Chief Technology Officer at Ethos. “iPipeline shares our commitment to making life insurance more accessible and improving the experience—at every point in the process. This strategic alliance allows us to seamlessly reach more consumers through the thousands of insurance agents who use iPipeline.”

125-Year-Old Fraternal Benefit Society Plans to Employ the iPipeline Ecosystem to Improve Agent & Member Experiences—and Set a Foundation for Scalable Growth

EXTON, PA and MADISON, WI—April 25, 2022— iPipeline® announces that BetterLife, a life insurance company which has been serving individuals, families, and communities for more than a century, will harness the iPipeline technology ecosystem to digitize its business operations to meet its aggressive growth goals.

Madison, WI-based BetterLife was created in January 2021 following the merger of two member-owned fraternal benefit societies with a combined 200+ years of providing affordable life insurance to American families. BetterLife, licensed in 17 states, aims to increase its life insurance business in the next three to five years. The life insurance company has subscribed to iPipeline’s end-to-end new business ecosystem for both agent-led and consumer-led transactions, which will help families not only acquire the right coverage but also do so more quickly and easily.

Enhanced Platform to Increase Sales Efficiency and Offer Access to Instant Underwriting Decisions

Exton, PA (July 21, 2021) – iPipeline®, a leading provider of no code / low code content-based digital solutions for the life insurance and financial services industry, today announced John Hancock has implemented a fully digital version of iGO® e-App, including Client Collaboration with AlphaTrust® e-Signature, to accelerate the life insurance application process. This new, modern approach can dramatically reduce the life insurance sales cycle and offers a less intrusive way to collect medical history data with required signatures. Some clients may even receive an “instant” underwriting decision via John Hancock ExpressTrack®, the company’s accelerated underwriting process.1

“Client collaboration has long been a primary focus for iPipeline as we see the speed-to-coverage advantages being top of mind for most customers. Whatever can be done to make application completion and the collection of personal/medical data easier can drastically improve the overall customer experience,” said Larry Berran, CEO, iPipeline. “The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted progressively minded carriers and their agents to seek efficient ways of doing business in a contactless selling environment. John Hancock’s decision to integrate with our platform demonstrates their commitment to accelerating the application and underwriting process at a time when traditional processing methods can lead to extensive delays.”

“At John Hancock, we are on a journey to reinvent the life insurance purchase process and are working in lock-step with like-minded innovative technology companies to make it happen. This collaboration with iPipeline is the latest effort to provide our distribution partners with next-generation sales tools to streamline the completion of applications,” said Linda Levyne, Senior Vice President/Head of Sales, John Hancock Insurance. “This is the level of service our partners and customers demand, and we are excited to provide them with an easy and convenient submission method at a time when so many are seeking protection.”

To learn more about iPipeline’s innovations in client collaboration, click here, contact sales@ipipeline.com or call 1-800-758-0824, option 2. 1. Consumers, 18-60, submitting an application via iPipeline’s iGO e-App, and applying for single-life coverage up to $3 million are eligible for the ExpressTrack process, with an opportunity for certain applicants to obtain an “instant” underwriting decision. Policy issuance is not guaranteed as any life insurance purchase is subject to completion of an application, including health questions, and underwriting approval. John Hancock will obtain additional information, including but not limited to medical records, to evaluate your application for insurance; and after your policy is issued, to identify any misrepresentation in the application. The ExpressTrack process is not available in New York.

Pekin Life Advances Digital Strategy by Accelerating Policy and Requirements Delivery With iPipeline

e-Delivery Modernization Circumvents Delays Caused by the Impact of COVID-19 on Traditional Delivery Methods

Exton, PA (July 20th, 2021) – iPipeline® – a leading provider of no code / low code content-based digital solutions for the life insurance and financial services industry, today announced Pekin Life has deployed DocFast® e-Delivery to accelerate policy and requirements deliveries for its 8,500 independent agents. The launch circumvents delays caused by the impact of COVID-19 on traditional USPS delivery methods.

“Traditional delivery methods have always added time to the delivery of policies and collection of signed requirements documents. With COVID-19 further complicating USPS staffing and deliveries, e-Delivery has moved to the forefront as an invaluable asset in accelerating the pace of new business,” said Larry Berran, CEO, iPipeline. “Reducing delivery times, requirements collections, and cycle times from several weeks to what can be as little as minutes supports new business growth objectives and promotes agent productivity. More importantly, it underscores a carrier’s commitment to getting individuals and families the protections they need now. We are committed to executing rapid DocFast e-Delivery implementations to support the growing need within the industry.”

“Pekin has an intense focus on delivering personalized and prompt service to our agents and customers. The recent USPS mail times have been steadily increasing in the last couple of years and slowing things down for us. We needed a solution to bypass this situation and avoid unnecessary delays impacting policy deliveries and the return of signed delivery requirements,” said Jocelyn Duncan, Vice President Life Administration, Pekin Life. “DocFast e-Delivery will enable us to reduce the number of abandoned applications, get more business paid, and cut down on the backlog of pending business that requires constant tracking. We are committed to continuing to enhance the buying and selling experience for both our agents and the customers they serve.”
