Tim WallaceChief Executive Officer
Tim Wallace is CEO of iPipeline and has over 30 years of experience in the software, service, and consulting industry. Tim previously served as interim President and COO of MEDecision Inc., a public software company. Prior to MEDecision, Tim was the CEO and Chairman of FullTilt Solutions, Inc. FullTilt had raised $22 million in venture capital and was recognized by Forrester and Gartner Research as the leading enterprise product information management software in the marketplace. Mr. Wallace is a winner of the 2011 Ernst & Young Technology CEO of the Year, the 2013 PACT Enterprise Award for Technology CEO of the Year, and the 2014 Red Herring Top 100 Award.
Prior to joining FullTilt in 2000, Tim served as CEO of systems integrator XeroxConnect, and as the President and CEO for XLConnect Solutions, Inc., where he was also one of the founders of the company. Tim and other members of the management team took the company public in October of 1996. Xerox acquired XLConnect in June of 1998 for approximately $420 million.
Tim was formerly a partner in The Waldec Group, a system integration company that was twice on the Inc. 500 list. He previously spent eleven years with Arthur Andersen & Company, where he was Managing Director of the Business Consulting Practice.
Tim received a Master of Business Administration from Miami University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served on the following boards: NitroSecurites, FullTilt Solutions, Inc. Knova, Inc., MEDecision, Inc., Migo Software, Inc., XLConnect, Snickelways, Serviceware, BizEquity and Point.io.
Paul Melchiorre, President of iPipeline, has a proven track record in the area of enterprise business solutions spanning over 29 years. Prior to iPipeline, Paul joined the founding team at Ariba where he served as Vice President of North American Operations, and established Ariba as the leader in cloud-based business-to-business commerce. During his tenure at Ariba, Paul built outstanding global field organizations for sales, implementation, services, alliances and channel relationships. Ariba was acquired in 2012 by SAP for $4.8 Billion.
Prior to Ariba, Paul joined SAP as employee 200 in the USA, assisting in the early global deployments of SAP R3. As Senior Vice President of Global Accounts, he and his group were responsible for over 85% of the company revenue and helped to establish SAP as the global leader in enterprise software. Paul also led industry initiatives supporting SAP's vertical strategy that enabled it to dominate many industries on a global basis.
Paul received his Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova and his Master of Business Administration from Drexel University. He and his wife Nicole have four children and reside in central Philadelphia, PA. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Message Systems and Advisory Boards of LiquidHub and DocuSign.
Bill AtleeChief Strategy Officer
Bill began his career as a life insurance agent with Fidelity Mutual Life where he gained valuable experience in implementing tax, legal, and estate planning techniques for high net worth individuals.
In 1992, he founded Direct Quote America, Inc., a nationally licensed brokerage firm that developed one of the industry’s first automated term insurance shopping services. The company enabled consumers to receive quotes and purchase insurance through a call center.
In 1996, Bill co-founded iPipeline with the mission of developing technology tools that enable insurance companies and their agents to market, sell, and process insurance faster. His experience personally selling over 6,000 life insurance policies gives iPipeline an inside prospective on how to create and deploy software products that focus around industry behavior.
Bill graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Westminster College.
Larry BerranChief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Larry joined iPipeline in 2002, and served as President and CEO of the company through July 2008. Larry transitioned to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer positions in July 2008 in connection with an acquisition of COSS Development Corporation. During Larry’s tenure, iPipeline has grown from $1 million in revenue to in excess of $75 million, completed 6 strategic acquisitions, and raised over $140 million in equity and debt from Fidelity Ventures, NewSpring Capital, Technology Crossover Ventures, Square 1 Bank and Capital One Bank for acquisitions and recapitalizations.
Prior to iPipeline, Larry was a Vice President for Internet Capital Group (ICG), where he played an instrumental role in preparing ICG for its initial public offering. During this time, Larry was directly involved with organizing and implementing ICG's finance function, including raising over $1.6 billion through multiple issuances of publicly traded securities, as well as private financings, including the acquisition of interests in over 70 partner companies.
In 1997, Larry joined Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. managing its finance department and working with Safeguard partner companies — ChromaVision, Inc., DocuCorp, Inc., and OAO Technologies. From 1992 to 1997, Larry worked as a Certified Public Accountant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, specializing in the Insurance and Financial Services industries. In addition Larry previously served as a director of The Sycamore Group, Fort Washington, PA, and was a director and treasurer of the Philadelphia Children's Alliance, Philadelphia, PA.
Larry graduated in 1993 from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree. He has two daughters and resides in West Chester, PA.
Daphne ThomasExecutive Vice President, Professional Services
Daphne Thomas has 20+ years of experience managing and delivering software projects. She has worked in large and small environments, with diverse teams from all around the globe. She has experience transforming organizations, within both development and services, into high performing teams who deliver on time and within budget.
Prior to joining iPipeline, Daphne was VP of Operations at Miria Systems, an IBM FileNet partner, responsible for delivering ECM solutions to companies such as DHL, and the PA DEP. Earlier, she served as VP of new product Development at Siemens Health Services, where she led a multi-site development team automating the Workflow of Patient Care Information Systems.
Daphne was born and educated in Dublin, Ireland. She is a Computer Science graduate of Rathmines College, Dublin. She also attended Executive Management Training at Babson College and Duke University.
Daphne is a board member of the Networking Women in Computer Technology and is also a member of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Forum. Daphne is a popular speaker at many local IT Forums and Conferences. She resides in Eagle, PA with her husband and 4 children.
Kevin KemmererExecutive Vice President, Product Management
Kevin brings over 20 years of experience in the enterprise software industry. Prior to joining iPipeline, Kevin was an Executive-In-Residence at Warburg Pincus. Prior to Warburg, Kevin was EVP and Managing Director of Safeguard Scientifics (NYSE: SFE), where he led Safeguard’s technology deal team and was responsible for eight of Safeguard’s companies in the enterprise software and internet markets.
Prior to joining Safeguard, Kevin sourced and managed software investments for Kennet Venture Partners. He previously co-led Broadview’s Silicon Valley team focused on M&A in the software applications market.
Earlier in his career, he was a Manager in Deloitte’s management consulting practice focusing on IT strategy and implementation projects in the financial services sector. He started his career as a software developer at Salomon Brothers.
Kevin received his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his BE at Vanderbilt University where he double majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Kevin has established himself as a leader in the technology industry, having been recognized with the Philadelphia Business Journal’s ’40 under 40’ Award in 2008. Additionally, in 2011, Kevin chaired the technology track of the 2011 IMPACT conference, run by PACT (Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies). He also serves on the IT Investment Advisory Committee for the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Michael PersianoChief Marketing Officer
Michael Persiano is Chief Marketing Officer at iPipeline. Michael is responsible for international marketing activities encompassing brand management, corporate positioning, demand generation, advertisement, market research, communications, sales enablement, customer advocacy, events management, public relations, and analyst relations. He directs the efforts of teams in North America and the UK.
Michael has a salient record of performance in building brands and markets for products and services for SMBs and major corporations. His marketing background in diversified industries spans more than 30 years and includes key executive positions at: Lockheed Martin, Computer Sciences Corporation, DecisionOne, FullTilt Solutions, Satori Group, and Fusion Sales Partners. Michael is an invitational member of the CMO Council and CMO Network. He currently serves on the PACT (Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies) Editorial Advisory Board and provides guidance to emerging technology companies on brand and demand-building strategies and tactics.
Michael was the recipient of a full academic scholarship to Drew University for Ph.D. studies, earned Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and taught business and marketing communications as a Visiting Lecturer at Rutgers University. He is a black-belt in Tae Kwon-Do, and an internationally recognized bonsai master, and an extensively published author and poet. Michael and his wife reside in Chester County, PA.
Brian SeidmanChief Technology Officer
Brian joined iPipeline in 2003 and is responsible for all aspects of product development and infrastructure. He led the teams that created the iGO® e-App solution and brought all other new product initiatives to the market on behalf of iPipeline. In this capacity Brian is also responsible for ensuring the reliable delivery and stability of all solutions offered by iPipeline.
A graduate of Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree. Prior to joining iPipeline, Mr. Seidman acted as an analyst, specializing in the development and evaluation of municipal financing plans for multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He assisted with the negotiation of loan and grant agreements on behalf of the United States Department of Transportation and reported directly to United States Congressional Committees.
Dan SmithExecutive Vice President, Financial Institutions
Dan Smith is Executive Vice President of Financial Institutions. Dan previously served as President and CEO of Aplifi and managed all aspects of the company's growth and maturation that led to its acquisition by iPipeline. Dan is the recipient of the 2005 Founders Award.
Earlier, Dan served as Vice President of Technology at BISYS Insurance Services, a New York-based, publically owned division, which operated as the largest national distributor of Life Insurance, Annuities, Long-Term Care and Disability Insurance.
Dan also held positions of increasing responsibility during his 10 years with General American Life Insurance, a Fortune 100 mutual life insurance company located in St. Louis, Missouri. He directed the technology solutions and services provided to the company’s General Agent sales organization.
Dan received a B.S. Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri.
He is Chairman of America’s Moms For Soldiers, Inc., a 501(c) (3) charity, whose mission is to ensure all of our troops in active conflict receive monthly care packages. The all-volunteer staff raises funds for postage, coordinates supply drives with local businesses, organizes the donated warehouse, packs the care packages and maintains communication with the military at all levels.
Ian TeagueUK Managing Director
Ian Teague is Managing Director of iPipeline’s UK business and is responsible for leading the business in the next stage of its journey; growing the use of next generation solutions that revolutionize the insurance industry.
Ian was previously Assureweb’s COO and CFO managing commercial and operational aspects of the company that led to its acquisition by iPipeline in 2012. Ian joined Assureweb in 2008 as Commercial Director, responsible for commercial negotiations & provider relations, focusing on diversifying and growing revenue streams and increasing the profitability of the business.
Ian is member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England and Wales) and has served as a Director in various other companies including Vertex Limited, where he played a lead role in the sale of this business to a consortium of Private Equity investors, and various Misys plc companies. Ian has 15 years’ experience growing revenues and profitability of technology businesses within the insurance industry.
