The following brief biographies for iPipeline's executive team provide insight into each individual's business career and salient accomplishments.

  • Tim Wallace, Chief Executive Officer [ + ]

    Tim Wallace is CEO of iPipeline with over 28 years of experience in the software, service and consulting industry. Mr. Wallace previously served as interim President and COO of MEDecision Inc., a public software company. Prior to MEDecision, Tim was the CEO and Chairman of FullTilt Solutions, Inc. FullTilt had raised $22 million in venture capital and was recognized by Forrester and Gartner Research as the leading enterprise product information management software in the market place. Mr. Wallace has been a two-time finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and a finalist for the Enterprise Award for "CEO of the Year."

    Prior to joining FullTilt in 2000, Mr. Wallace served as CEO of systems integrator XeroxConnect, and as the President and CEO for XLConnect Solutions, Inc., where he was also one of the founders of the company. Mr. Wallace and other members of the management team took the company public in October of 1996. Xerox acquired XLConnect in June of 1998 for approximately $420 million.

    Mr. Wallace formerly was a partner in The Waldec Group, a system integration company that was twice on the Inc. 500 list. He previously spent eleven years with Arthur Andersen & Company, where he was Managing Director of the Business Consulting Practice.

    Mr. Wallace received a Master of Business Administration from Miami University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served on the following boards: FullTilt Solutions, Inc. Knova, Inc., MEDecision, Inc., and Migo Software, Inc.

  • Bill Butler, President [ + ]

    Bill Butler is an accomplished executive with more than 20 years experience growing technology companies in Content Management, Marketing Automation, Compliance, Security, and Social Networking. His unprecedented track record of revenue achievement is based on the ability to hire, train, and motivate top performers coupled with leading edge sales processes designed to provide a competitive advantage.

    Bill has worked with many of the top venture firms including Kleiner Perkins, Benchmark, Integral Capital, Sequoia Capital, and Norwest. He has grown firms from startup to over $250M in revenue leading to both public offerings and profitable acquisitions. He has managed worldwide teams including direct sales, channels, inside sales, marketing, & professional services.

    In 1993, Bill joined Documentum with the release of version 1.0 and closed the majority of customers in the early years allowing Documentum to "Cross the Chasm" in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Over the next 8 years, Bill led the Sales Organization into multiple industries, worldwide expansion, a successful IPO, and left in 2001 with revenues of $250M.

    From 2001 to 2008, Bill worked with a number of early stage software companies including MarketSoft, Visible Path, and Orchestria. Bill has an undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Boston College. Bill works with local and international charitable organizations helping families transition from welfare to self sufficiency.

  • Andrea Evans, President, AgencyWorks
  • Bill Atlee, Chief Strategy Officer [ + ]

    Bill began his career in 1988 as a life insurance agent with Fidelity Mutual Life where he gained valuable experience in implementing tax, legal and estate planning techniques for high net worth individuals.

    In 1992, he founded Direct Quote America, Inc., a nationally licensed brokerage firm that developed one of the industry's first automated term insurance shopping services. The company enabled consumers to receive quotes and purchase insurance from a touch-tone phone or Web site.

    In 1996, Bill co-founded iPipeline with the mission of developing technology tools that enable insurance companies and their agents to market better, sell more and process insurance faster and more efficiently than ever before. Bill's deep insurance experience provides leadership and vision in developing cutting edge software and allows iPipeline to capitalize on his marketing and management strengths.

    Bill graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Westminster College. He and his wife Kelly have two sons and reside in Downingtown, PA.

  • Larry Berran, Chief Operating Officer [ + ]

    Larry Berran has worked with several advanced technology businesses specializing in software development, services enabled by technology and business process outsourcing.

    A 1993 graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Berran worked as a Certified Public Accountant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, specializing in the Insurance and Financial Services industries. Mr. Berran joined Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. in 1997 managing its finance department and working with Safeguard partner companies — ChromaVision, Inc., DocuCorp, Inc., and OAO Technologies during and after their initial public offerings.

    In 1999, Mr. Berran joined Internet Capital Group (ICG), a Safeguard partner company, to play an instrumental role in preparing ICG for its initial public offering. During this time, Mr. Berran was directly involved with organizing and implementing ICG's finance function, including raising over $1.6 billion through multiple issuances of publicly traded securities as well as private financings and including the acquisition of interests in over 70 partner companies. As Vice President — Financial Operations, Mr. Berran was directly responsible for ICG's corporate planning and analysis and the financial reporting of its partner companies. Mr. Berran was also active in advising ICG's Executive Committee and its partner companies, such as eMerge Interactive, ICG Commerce, and Mobility Technologies, in areas of strategy, governance, finance, planning and business processes.

    Mr. Berran joined iPipeline in 2002 and was President and CEO of iPipeline through July 2008. Over the last six years, Mr. Berran led iPipeline to over 400% growth, completed two critical strategic acquisitions and raised $18 million from Fidelity Ventures and NewSpring Capital. Mr. Berran transitioned to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer positions in July 2008 in connection with an acquisition of COSS Development Corporation.

    In addition Mr. Berran previously served as a director of The Sycamore Group, Fort Washington, PA, and was a director and treasurer of the Philadelphia Children's Alliance, Philadelphia, PA. He and his wife Margaret have two daughters and reside in East Bradford, PA.

  • Brian Seidman, Vice President, Technology [ + ]

    Brian Seidman, has worked on numerous financial and accounting issues in a wide range of industries.

    A 1997 graduate of Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Pennsylvania. From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Seidman worked for Milligan & Company, LLC. Mr. Seidman acted as a senior manager specializing in the development and evaluation of municipal financing plans for multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects being built throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He assisted with the negotiation of loan and grant agreements on behalf of the United States Department of Transportation and reported directly to United States Congressional Committees. He also developed municipal financing plans that included strategies for obtaining large amounts of capital necessary for financing infrastructure undertakings.

    In his capacity as Senior Manager, Mr. Seidman also evaluated numerous entities systems of internal control and assisted his clients with financial reporting issues. He has spoken routinely at financial management seminars held throughout the country.

    He, his wife Carly and son reside in Haverford, PA.

  • Scott Alexander, Vice President, Product Management [ + ]

    Scott Alexander is a senior executive with over 20 years of experience in general management, marketing, technology and strategy in the consumer packaged goods, financial services and insurance industries. Scott's has a proven track record of bringing innovation into his roles to create, grow and manage successful businesses and operations.

    Scott has worked with some of the largest companies including AIG, Campbell Soup and Merrill Lynch, as well as VC funded firms like InvestorForce. Scott became a thought leader in the eBusiness space when he created AIG's Global eBusiness capability from start-up to a business entity with $150 million in revenue and a $1.5 billion scorecard. Scott received awards including Forbes Magnetic 40 and Best of the Web, and Wired 40 for the creation of the AIG Direct brand and internet business. Scott also ran a direct small commercial insurance business for AIG. His financial services experience includes running Merrill Lynch's eBusiness and CRM functions resulting in receiving Kasina's Best of the Web.

    His professional experience also includes leading and growing a global direct marketing business for The Franklin Mint and most recently running Marketing Enablement, whose clients included the U.S. Army, MRM Worldwide and a U.S. Congressman.

    Scott holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, an MBA from Widener University and a Master's in Organization Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. He, his wife, and four children reside in southern New Jersey.

  • Dan Borth, Vice President & General Manager, Illustrations [ + ]

    Dan Borth is Vice President of Illustrations at iPipeline. Mr. Borth is responsible for illustration professional service activities encompassing project management, business analysis, development, quality assurance, implementation, and sales support. Mr. Borth has experience in development, design and management of software companies. He has worked in the financial services industry for the past 12 plus years with positions at Metavante, COSS and now iPipeline.

    Mr. Borth graduated from Athens University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He, his wife Steph, two sons and daughter reside in Saukville, WI.

  • Michael Persiano, Vice President, Marketing [ + ]

    Michael Persiano is Vice President of Marketing at iPipeline. Mr. Persiano is responsible for strategic and tactical marketing activities encompassing brand management, corporate positioning, demand generation, advertisement, market research, marketing communications, sales support, events management, public relations, and analyst relations. Mr. Persiano has a record of performance in building markets for products and services companies. His marketing background in numerous industries spans more than 20 years and includes key executive positions at: Lockheed Martin, Computer Sciences Corporation, DecisionOne, FullTilt Solutions, Satori, and Fusion Sales Partners. Mr. Persiano is an invitational member of the CMO Council. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for SaberSource.

    Mr. Persiano was awarded an academic scholarship to Drew University for Ph.D. studies, earned Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and taught business and marketing communications as a Visiting Lecturer at Rutgers University. He is a black-belt in Tae Kwon-Do, and an internationally recognized bonsai master. Michael and his wife reside in Chester County, PA.

  • Daphne Thomas, Vice President, Professional Services [ + ]

    Daphne Thomas has 20+ years of experience managing and delivering software projects. She has work in large and small environments, with diverse team from all around the globe. She has experience transforming organizations, both development and services into high performing teams who deliver on time and within budget, and still have fun!

    Prior to joining iPipeline, Daphne was VP of Operations at Miria Systems, an IBM FileNet partner, responsible for delivering ECM solutions to companies such as DHL, and the PA DEP. Earlier, she served as VP of new product Development at Siemens Health Services, where she led a multi-site development team automating the Workflow of Patient Care Information Systems.

    Daphne was born and educated in Dublin, Ireland. She is a Computer Science graduate of Rathmines College, Dublin. She also attended Executive Management Training at Babson College and Duke University.

    Daphne is a board member of the Networking Women in Computer Technology and is also a member of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Forum. Daphne is a popular speaker at many local IT Forums and Conferences. She resides in Eagle, PA with her husband and 4 children.
