Twenty percent of Assurity Life’s apps are now submitted electronically, and the number continues to grow.

March is a big month at Assurity Life Insurance. It’s E-app Awareness Month. For the entire month, the Lincoln, NE-based carrier does a number of promotions and offers  rewards to help promote use of the electronic application.

At different times, iPads, gift cards and cash have all been up for grabs to agents who submit  e-apps during March, according to Pat Criger, director of New Business Services for Assurity Life.

“We always  see a spike in the use of e-Apps that month,” she says. “We want to entice agents to use it. Once they use it, they say, ‘ I’m never going  back to the paper application.’ ”

Back in 2006, Assurity Life was one of the first carriers to sign on to offer iGO e-Apps. Each year, the company has seen a steady increase in adoption, she says.

“We wanted to be ready for e-apps when the technology started  going wild,” Criger says. “Right now, we’re seeing 20 percent of our apps as e-apps. That number continues to grow.”

She says Assurity Life saw a significant reduction in Not in Good Order (NiGO) applications and a decrease in processing time thanks to iGO e-App.

According to Criger, she considers the iPipeline team to be part of the Assurity team.

“I feel I could pick up the phone and talk with [CEO] Tim [Wallace], [VP, Professional Services] Daphne [Thomas] or whomever,” Criger says. “They’re very supportive, responsive and helpful.”
